Still Enjoying Summer

I love my work during the school year; I love my time at home during weekends and vacations. It restores the mind, body, and spirit. I’ve read several novels and enrolled my son in a driving course. This means that I have the privilege of allowing him to practice his new skill a little bit each day. Yesterday was a bit rainy, so I didn’t feel it to be in our best interests to skid about on the third outing ever. He understood, but he wants to practice after his class this afternoon. I’ve been able to grill burgers, chops, steaks, and chicken with the grill my husband and I purchased for our anniversary in May. My son would eat grilled food on a daily basis, weather permitting.

I’ve a bone to pick with some of the office supply companies and department stores who are advertising back to school sales and specials already. We don’t return for several weeks, and I am in no rush to shorten my relaxed mindset’s time just yet. I will take advantage of sales events as time gets closer; however, I resent the forceful intrusion I see with the merchandise/supplies on display as soon as Independence day weekend folded. It was lightning quick and disheartening. Don’t think I am lazy or unwilling to do my work/ministry. I need that down time to release tensions and anxieties just like every other working person. Please! I am still enjoying my summer and my family time.
